Overview

The goal of the WLI is to improve the livelihoods of rural households and communities in areas where water scarcity, land degradation, water quality deterioration, food security and health problems are prevalent in the seven participating countries (Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon), focusing initially on specific benchmark sites.  Water and land management strategies designed to increase water productivity will be initially pilot-tested at these benchmark sites and will then be scaled out to other areas within each country and throughout the region
