A regionally focused project, we aim to develop a system for marker-assisted selection for resistance to the hoja blanca virus and the insect vector Tagosodes. A backcross method is being used to transfer QTLs associated with resistance to the rice hoja blanca virus to susceptible elite lines. Product lines will be ready for field testing in 2011.
