The project will focus on defining climate-related risks to rainfed production; but will explicitly examine a broad range of responses, not restricted to water management. Social and policy aspects are often more significant constraints to sustainable production than biophysical aspects, and it is necessary to take into account production issues such as fertilisers and pest management; and other drivers such as access to markets and changes in prices and demand.
