Overview

The purpose of the project is to oversee the design and execution of the monitoring and evaluation systems of the PIMCHAS project, run by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA) which aims to improve the quality of life and economic welfare of the residents of the semi arid areas of northern Nicaragua through the improved management and use of water.

Objectives include:

  1. To measure project performance according to the project aims, and to evaluate the impact of activities on the target population, identifying the catalysts and obstacles to supporting timely decision making.
  2. To support the development and strengthening of local capacity for monitoring their own conditions and situation, and making decisions consistent with their objectives of improving the quality and standard of living.
