The project aims to achieve this through a strategy focusing on five pillars addressing supply and demand side constraints in the legumes sub-sector:

  • Institutional innovations for improving markets and reducing transaction costs for small holder farmers
  • Market-preferred low-risk varieties and complementary management practices
  • Institutional innovations for improving access toand utilization of quality seeds of improved varieties and complementary inputs
  • Decision support tools for better targeting of improved varieties and management practices
  • Capacity strengthening for service providers and agro-enterprises to better utilize legume innovations
