This project aims to contribute to the development of improved legume varieties in sub-Saharan Africa by developing genomic resources and molecular markers for traits of importance, and by implementing modern breeding in sub-Saharan Africa. Being a collaborative project, CIAT’s specific role is to improve common bean productivity for marginal environments in sub-Saharan Africa. This project will address this issue along with additional important biotic stress resistance traits through five different activities.
