This project involves the nationwide collection of local varieties of avocado seeds and plant material to identify potential resistance to Phytophthora, promising applications of the species for agribusiness and fresh consumption and important commercial species that perform well due to their vigor, productivity and disease resistance. The most promising materials will be added to the germplasm bank of avocado and related species in the Colombian Corporation of Agricultural Research (Corpoica).
