Overview

Given the current water scarcity situation in Algeria, the reuse of treated waste water is now a national priority. The project willapply an integrated systems approach to re-using wastewater in two pilot sites that represent the complexity of the problem related to the management and use of wastewater in Algeria, i.e. the area of the Lake Réghaïa and the area of Constantine with two types of climate: humid (Réghaïa) and continental (Constantine) The overall objective of the SINBAD research project is to contribute to the capacity building of Algerian Ministries and to develop knowledge, through two pilot projects focused on improved sanitation and integrated wastewater management with the twofold purpose of reducing pollution and reusing treated wastewater for agriculture.
