CGIAR research is dynamic, flexible and responsive to emerging development challenges.
Research areas show the main focal points of CGIAR Center work. A research project can be related to one or more of the following areas:
- Agrobiodiversity
- Aquaculture
- Climate Change
- Crops
- Ecosystem Management
- Fisheries
- Forestry & Agroforestry
- Land Management
- Livestock
- Market Access
- Policy & Institutions
- Seed Systems
- Soils
- Water Management
These areas have been identified through a survey with a sample of scientists based in Africa. As such, they do not represent the full thematic spectrum of CGIAR research but are based on the analysis of projects as they are contributed to Ongoing Research.
For a finer view of research themes and topics, identify the tags in the project fact sheet or conduct a search.
As Ongoing Research evolves, the research areas will become more detailed, and better linked to the new Consortium Research Programs.
